Student Qualification and Requirements

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student with plans to be enrolled in both the Fall 2023 & Spring 2024 semesters.
  • GPA requirement 3.0 or above.
  • Students must have been enrolled for at least one semester at the time of application. First-semester transfer students are eligible.
  • Students must be in good standing academically and in terms of conduct before and during the internship.
  • Fulfill project contract requirements and learning agreement. Provided at the beginning of the project by site supervisor. 
  • It is expected that students will dedicate 10-15 hours per week working on their projects.
  • Projects are expected to be completed within 6-8 months. The SSI program operates between September 2023 through April 2024.

POSTER PRESENTATION & SYMPOSIUM

At the conclusion of the project experience students will present a poster at the Student Success Internship Symposium and share their demonstrated learning with other students, faculty, and the campus community. Costs associated with the production of the posters and final symposium are covered by the Student Success Internship program. The annual symposium will be scheduled in late April 2024.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SEMINARS                                                                                                                                      

Students will participate in at least three of four professional development seminars throughout the internhips. Topics may include resume writing, building your professional brand on social media (LinkedIn), developing your professional network, and improving interviewing skills.
