Student Qualification and Requirements


  • Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student with plans to be enrolled in both the Fall 2019 & Spring 2020 semesters.
  • GPA requirement 3.0 or above.
  • Students must have been enrolled for at least one semester at the time of application.
  • Students must be in good standing academically and in terms of conduct before and during the internship.
  • Devote 10 to 18 hours per week to working for host unit for both fall and spring semesters.
  • Fulfill internship contract requirements and learning agreement. Provided at the beginning of the internship by site supervisor. 

At the conclusion of their internship experience SSI interns will present a poster at the Student Success Internship Symposium and share their demonstrated learning with other students, faculty, and the campus community. Costs associated with the production of the intern posters and final symposium are covered by the SSI program. The annual symposium is scheduled for Weds. April 22nd, 2020 from 4:00-5:30 p.m.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SEMINARS                                                                                                                                       Interns will participate in at least three of four professional development seminars (in-person). Topics may include resume writing, building your professional brand on social media (LinkedIn), developing your professional network, and improving interviewing skills.
