Student Application Process
Who can participate?
Undergraduates who have been enrolled for at least one semester at the time of application with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA may participate. First-semester transfer students are eligible. In addition, students must be in good academic and conduct standing with the University.
How to Apply?
Internship positions for 2025-26 will begin accepting student applications the week of Sept. 8th, 2025. Projects will be added often so check back often. Applications for projects will close on September 25, 2025.
Once the positions are selected and posted, please following the instructions below.
How do I find and apply to a project?
STEP 1: Log in and search on Handshake https://ucmerced.joinhandshake.com/login
Use the key words: Student Success Internships
STEP 2: Apply
Submit your resume and cover letter on Handshake to projects of interest.
STEP 3: Participate in Selection Process
Using their own selection process, the department will review resumes and select candidates to interview and select for the project.
Do I Get Paid?
A project provides students with the opportunity to apply classroom learning to real-world experiences. Upon completion of the project, the student will receive up to a $3,000 award through the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships as a student stipend and will be added to your financial aid awards.
